Leo Carlin
Board Member, President
Leo Carlin, Jr. has been involved with football all his life. As a member of the Arena Football League's Philadelphia Soul's ownership group, he participates actively in the daily operations of the organization and has been a central figure in the growth of the Soul since the team's launch in September of 2003.
"Leo has been a tremendous asset to our team since day one," Soul Co-owner Craig A. Spencer said. "He brings more than 20 years of sports industry knowledge and plays an integral role in the day-to-day operations of our organization."
Drawing upon experience (he holds a degree in Economics from The College of the Holy Cross, was a four-year member of their football team and spent a pre-season with the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles) and relationships built through years of involvement in the sports industry, Carlin was a central figure in assembling the organization's front office personnel around the time of the Soul's launch. The son of Philadelphia Eagles Director of Ticket Sales, Leo Carlin, Sr., he brings management experience to his role with the Soul.
In addition to his role with the Soul, Carlin is a Partner in T.W. Cooper Insurance. T.W. Cooper specializes in business, personal, health and life insurance and is one of the largest commercial producers for Erie Insurance in the country. T.W. Cooper Insurance maintains three fully staffed locations and generates over $30 million in premium.
In addition to him serving as a Board Member and President of Philadelphia Soul Charitable Foundation, Leo remains actively involved in the Philadelphia community and has served on development and fundraising committees for various charities. He currently serves on the board of The Covenant House in Philadelphia, an agency that provides shelter and other services to the homeless and "at risk" youth. Leo also sits on The Board for both St. Joseph's Preparatory High School in Philadelphia (his alma mater) and The Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Bryn Mawr.
He currently resides in Drexel Hill, PA with his wife of 15 years, Suzanne, and their four children: Karleigh, Leo III, Keenan and Margo (6).
