As 2013 comes to a close, I look back on the many highlights of the past year and know that none of our work here at Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation would be possible without the vast amount of support that comes from our online visitors. Your confidence in the work we do with so many highly respected community partners encourages us to be better and to find and initiate best practices within our organization. As Jon has said so many times during the past year, “no one can do it alone – it is only through the Power of We that “we” can provide an opportunity for so many to take that next step”. Your support has improved the circumstances of so many that find themselves without a place to sleep at night or without the ability to provide healthy, nutritious food for their families.
It was 2009 when superstar and philanthropist Jon Bon Jovi first toured Camden to see up close the severe problems that plagued the city. He met with community leaders struggling to incite change and made a promise to use his greatest resources – his funds and his fame – to support their work. The rocker visited again last month, only this time he was touring a new 17,000-square-foot homeless facility, a place he helped build without picking up a hammer or nail.
The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation and the JBJ Soul Kitchen would like to thank you for your support and generosity this holiday season. Your support makes our work possible and we thank you for being our partner.
We have received an overwhelming amount of positive support after sharing Jon Bon Jovi’s visit to a program the JBJ Soul Foundation is helping to fund – Joseph’s House of Camden, NJ. Many have asked how they can help and we would like to share how you can make a difference this Thanksgiving.
In our Foundation’s ongoing effort to help end hunger in America, Jon Bon Jovi attended an event for A Place at the Table over the weekend.
