UN -World Habitat Day was held on Monday, October 5, 2009. The annual event was held this year in Washington, D.C., the first time a U.S. city has hosted the global event. Jon Bon Jovi was invited as a special guest & keynote speaker to help shine a light on affordable housing, sustainable development and better urban planning.

At a public groundbreaking and announcement ceremony held Wednesday, July 8th, in Center City, plans were shared for the construction of a $24.5 million, 79-unit, LEED-Certified apartment building to be erected in Center City and serve as housing for homeless and formerly homeless men and women of Philadelphia.
