Jon Bon Jovi knows he can’t help society by curing cancer or splitting atoms. But he can use his celebrity to command the attention of millions of people, including some of the wealthiest and most powerful.
On the eve of the long-awaited opening of the new 180 Turning Lives Around Inc., safe house — a home built to provide safety, hope and healing to Monmouth County victims of domestic violence — major donors and community supporters of the project gathered to witness the results of their philanthropy.
Over the past year, the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation has worked with the New Jersey Anti-Hunger Coalition (NJAHC) on a program called NJ Soul of Hunger (NJSOH). The goal of the program has been to educate the public and policy makers about the broad scope of hunger in New Jersey by using real stories and voices of those experiencing hunger first hand.
The JBJ Soul Foundation and Soul Kitchen would like to thank Gateway Church and Spoon Full of Hope for their service to the community of Union Beach. For the last year these 2 groups have worked together to feed and help rebuild their community, through a grant from the JBJ Soul Foundation.
